This is how white laundry stays white

Keeps white laundry white - bluu - The Wash Sensation

Are you also wearing a lot of light and white clothing right now? White laundry is really fun — at least as long as it stays truly white. But in no time at all, the white develops a grey tinge, and Stains often remain visible too. What do you do?

We reveal in this post how to keep your white laundry truly white.

Why does white clothing turn gray in the first place?

It can happen that color  from other clothing onto white fabrics during Laundry transfers. If a garment hangs or sits unused for too long, it can also lead to gray haze.

But the main reason why white laundry doesn't stay white is often dirt as well as limescale deposits, which get stuck in the fabric fibers.

This is how you keep your laundry white

To keep that new T-shirt white for as long as possible, you can follow these tips.

  • White on white: Don't wash your white clothing with colored clothing. This way you avoid unsightly discolorations.
  • Pre-treat Stains: You should pre-treat heavy stains before Laundry. You can find more information about this further down.
  • Correct Dosage: Too much detergent won't make your laundry cleaner. On the contrary! If you use too much, dirt particles can't be completely rinsed away with water and will stick to the fabric fibers. That leads to the familiar gray haze.
  • Use a white booster product regularly, but make sure it's free of plastic and optical brighteners, for example the bluu sno2 white

With the bluu Laundry Detergent Sheets By the way, you no longer need to worry about Dosage: one strip per full washing machine load, toss it in, and you are done.

Instead of bleaching: This is how your clothing becomes white again

In the past, people simply washed white or grayed laundry with bleach: Many all-purpose detergents contain bleach. However, bleach is aggressive, not environmentally friendly, and above all not suitable for all fabrics.

To give your formerly white laundry more radiance again, you don't need bleach. You can use these home remedies instead:

For white laundry: Citric Acid or bluu snO2 white

Citric Acid works like natural bleach. To do this, fill a sink with warm water and add one cup of Citric Acid. Place your clothing in the solution for half an hour to a full hour. Afterwards, rinse the laundry with clean water and wash it as you normally would in the washing machine.

Or you can use our bluu snO2 white, which comes with a practical Measuring Spoon — it is eco-friendly and highly effective even against greying.

White vinegar

Instead of Citric Acid, you can also simply use one cup of white vinegar.

Against gray haze: Sun

Direct sunlight or UV rays also help with discolorations and gray haze. For this, simply hang the laundry outside and dry it in midday sun.

By the way, this also often works great on stubborn Stains!

The bluu Laundry Detergent Sheets by the way contain neither bleach nor brighteners – and are suitable for all temperatures and almost all fabrics.

This is how you remove Stains from white laundry

The advantage: White laundry doesn't fade like a black garment. So with unproblematic fabrics, you can try quite a lot.

  • Sunlight fades Stains: As already described in the previous section, sunlight often burns Stains away.
  • Let baking soda work: Put some baking soda on the stain, let it work overnight, and rinse it out with cold water before putting the clothing in the washing machine.
  • Pre-treat with hard soap: Moisten the stain and rub it with gall soap, preferably as soon as possible. Afterwards, wash normally with the rest of the laundry.
