    • No, we didn't invent the technology. This has existed for several years. We are proud that with bluu we have launched the first wash strip brand in Switzerland.

  • 05Can I return the products if they don't work for me?

  • 06Why "bluu"?
    • bluu stands for water, purity and our blue planet. The bluu wash strips are biodegradable. • 01Do I still need fabric softener?
    • bluu itself has no plasticizers in it. If you don't want to do without the fabric softener, you can continue to use it. By the way, a simple substitute for fabric softener is normal white household vinegar (no vinegar essences). You can put about 30 - 60 ml of vinegar in the fabric softener compartment. The vinegar softens the water, disinfects and removes limescale and any detergent residue from the fibers of your clothing.

  • 02Do the bluu washing strips also work in cold water?
    • Yes, the bluu wash strips are suitable for all temperatures, including cold water. To ensure washing performance, we recommend using at least 15°C warm water.

  • 03Do these little wash strips even work?
    • Yes! Despite the low weight of only 3 grams, we can absolutely assure you that we have tested the washing performance extensively and countless times so that we can also fully stand behind our product. For stubborn stains, we recommend using an additional stain remover (e.g. curd soap) before washing.

  • 04What temperatures are bluu washing strips suitable for?
    • The bluu washing strips are suitable for all temperatures from 15 - 95 °C.

  • 05I have a large washing machine (8 kg), what should I watch out for?
    • If you have a large washing machine with an 8 kg washing drum, you should simply use twice the amount of washing strips specified on the packaging, in contrast to normal washing machines (4-5 kg).

  • 06Can I take bluu wash strips with me when I travel?
    • In fact, thanks to their small size and low weight, the washing strips are perfect for washing clean even when travelling. They are also suitable for hand washing.

  • 07Can I also use bluu washing strips for hand washing?
    • Yes, the washing strips can be used very well for hand washing. Important: wash your hands well afterwards! For sensitive skin, we especially recommend our "Unscented" wash strips, which are free from fragrances and perfumes.

  • 08Can I also use the wash strips for silk, cashmere, down and wool?
    • Yes, the bluu wash strips can be used on all textiles, including wool, cashmere, down and silk. And for all temperatures, from 15 - 95 °C.

  • 09Can the bluu washing strips also be used for technical and breathable textiles?
    • Yes, the washing strips are suitable for all textiles. Please note the care instructions on the garments. Since the washing strips do not contain any cationic surfactants or solvents, the breathability of the textiles is not impaired.

  • 10Only a little foam forms with the bluu wash strips. Do I have to use more wash strips?
    • No. No foam is needed for effective washing! The suds can even have negative effects because air bubbles hinder the washing effect and because it takes a lot of water to flush the suds out and if there is too much suds, the detergent can then remain in the clothes.

  • 11Do I have to take the water hardness in my region into account when dosing?
    • The water hardness has a certain influence on the washing result, but in principle 1 - 1.5 washing strips per wash cycle are sufficient even in regions with high water hardness. If the washing performance is not sufficient, you can easily adjust the dosage. You can find your water hardness here: www.bluuwash.com/wasser

  • 12Does heavily soiled laundry need to be pre-treated?
    • We generally recommend pre-treating stains and heavily soiled laundry with our stain remover .

  • 13Are the bluu washing strips also suitable for allergy sufferers (detergent intolerance)?
    • bluu consists of nonionic and anionic surfactants, and long-lasting fragrances are also used in the "Alpenfrische" variant. Although the wash strips are very mild and made without bleach, preservatives, parabens, we do not classify them as hypoallergenic.

In addition, the washing strips were tested by Dermatest for compatibility and rated "very good". They are therefore suitable for every skin type.

  • 14Are the bluu washing strips also suitable for cloth diapers?
    • You can also wash the cloth diapers with our wash strips. However, please note the care instructions for the diapers. It is best to use our skin-friendly "Unscented" variant, which does not contain any fragrances.

Optionally, we recommend adding oxygen bleach to treat germs and stains so that you don't have to wash the nappies too hot, which in turn would massively reduce the lifespan of the nappies.

  • 15Should I continue to use descaler with hard water?
    • The bluu washing strips do not contain any limescale remover. If you have extremely hard (calcareous) water in your region and have been using a lime remover up to now, you should continue to use it. Incidentally, citric acid is an ecological alternative. For basic cleaning, simply put approx. 50-100 grams in the drum and select a 90 degree program. This keeps your machine lime-free.

  • 16What else do I have to consider when using it?
    • bluu is a detergent that must be kept out of the reach of children and should be stored in a dry place, please refer to the instructions on the packaging.

  • 17Which textiles can I wash with the bluu washing strips?
    • Our washing strips are suitable for all textiles, whether white, colored or black laundry. They can also be used for wool, silk and cashmere.

  • 18How do I proceed with the "prewash"?
    • Basically, the "pre-wash" is not necessary in most cases and requires more water and energy. Instead, the stained areas can be pre-treated with a stain remover (e.g. curd soap). If you still choose the prewash program, half a bluu washing strip, which you put in the prewash compartment, is enough, you can also put the other washing strips for the normal program in the compartment instead of putting them in the drum. The best way to do this is simply tear the strips into smaller pieces.

  • 19How do I use the bluu wash strips?
    • It couldn't be simpler: open the washing machine, put the laundry in the drum, put washing strips on top, start the machine and off you go.

  • 20How many washing strips do I have to use?
    • Basically, the following applies: 1 washing strip for 1 load of laundry. In the case of heavy soiling or a large amount of laundry, we recommend using 1.5 or 2 strips. It is also advisable to increase the quantity in very hard water. You can find out your water hardness here: www.bluuwash.com/wasser

  • 01Are dryer balls also suitable for the washing machine?
    • No, dryer balls are only intended for use in the tumble dryer. They should not cause any damage in the washing machine, but they also have no positive effect. Dryer balls are often confused with wash balls or laundry balls.

  • 02How to use dryer balls?
    • Dryer balls are simply added to the damp laundry in the tumble dryer. Then the usual drying program is selected. Four balls are enough for a normal amount of laundry.

  • 03How do dryer balls work?
    • Dryer balls separate the laundry and allow the air in the dryer to circulate optimally between the laundry items. This reduces the drying time by up to 25% and thus helps to save energy. Due to the fact that the laundry does not lie in a large lump in the tumble dryer in connection with the dryer balls, fibers and down have the opportunity to straighten up and relax again .

  • 04Do dryer balls stain?
    • bluu dryer balls should not rub off. However, we do not recommend using tennis balls instead of dryer balls. These could indeed rub off. So we recommend using the bluu balls to be safe.

  • 05Do the dryer balls help dry down and linens?
    • Down typically clumps when washed. When drying, you have to help the down to straighten up again. Put your down or quilted jacket in the dryer to dry.
In addition, place the 4 dryer balls from bluu in the drum. They loosen up the down and bed linen as it dries.

  • 06Why do I have to use 4 dryer balls?
    • The addition of 4 dryer balls ensures sufficient friction. This means that the laundry dries faster because the heat is better distributed. This also creates more movement in the dryer, so the fibers of the laundry can unfold better and the laundry becomes softer and less wrinkled.

  • 07Are the dryer balls also suitable for allergy sufferers?
    • Animal hair allergy is not triggered by the animal hair itself, but by certain proteins, for example in sweat, saliva, etc. and fatty alcohols. With carefully treated wool, these are no longer present. Our dryer balls should have been cleaned sufficiently enough to prevent this from happening. However, there can still be a potential reaction if you are directly allergic to sheep's wool. All other allergies should normally not cause a reaction, since our dryer balls are hypoallergenic.

  • 08Do you still need to use fabric softener or dryer sheets with our dryer balls?
    • No, our dryer balls act like a natural fabric softener. Both the use of fabric softener and dryer sheets can be dispensed with. The bluu balls make the laundry soft and supple.

  • 09Can you use dryer balls for baby diapers and baby clothes?
    • Dryer balls made of natural materials such as felt or wool are ideal for baby clothes, children's clothes or diapers. Using plastic dryer balls can irritate children's sensitive skin. At the high temperatures that prevail in the dryer, chemical substances can be released from plastic balls and transferred to the laundry. This doesn't happen with our bluu balls.

  • 10How long do dryer balls last?
    • Our dryer balls last for approximately 1000 drying cycles.

  • 11Can you add flavors to dryer balls?
    • Yes, a few drops of essential oils on the balls make the laundry smell even more pleasant.

  • 12Do dryer balls eliminate static electricity?
    • Dryer balls do not eliminate static electricity. They only help prevent them. Static charges are caused not only by a dry climate but also by drying in a tumble dryer for too long. To reduce static charges also helps:

      • reduction in drying time
      • wash with pre-dosed bluu wash strips
      • To separate synthetic fabrics from the rest of the laundry
  • 13Are there tests on the effectiveness of dryer balls?
    • Yes, dryer balls have been lab tested for effectiveness. The test showed a reduction in drying time of up to 25%. In addition, the laundry dried with dryer balls was softer and had fewer wrinkles.

  • 27Where are the bluu wash strips produced?
    • Until our production in Europe is completed, our wash strips will still be manufactured in China by a selected supplier. Our supplier recognizes amfori's BSCI code of conduct and is committed and endeavors to enforce the requirements on itself and its suppliers and to constantly improve. We do not use any animal ingredients in our stain soap and use high-quality, plant-based ingredients such as olive oil from Greece and soap chews from the Alps. As a result, we not only achieve a good washing result, but also a good result for our blue planet.

  • 32What is the best way to use the bluu stain soap?

  • 34What is soapwort and how does it work in stain soap?
    • Our stain soap contains common soapwort (Saponaria officinalis) from the Alps. The wooden roots of the delicate soapwort flower contain detergent substances and, when combined with water, create a slightly foaming soap solution. This cleans the laundry in a completely natural way and is therefore particularly gentle on the skin and the environment. With our stain soap we want to help the forgotten miracle herb from the Alps to regain its splendor!

  • 35What are the ingredients in the floor cleaning strips?

Neutral cleaners have the advantage that they are suitable for almost all surfaces, are gentle on materials and are therefore also suitable for sensitive floors. • 41Does the EccoClean cover have to be opened for use?
    • No, the pads come unopened in the main detergent compartment (II).

  • 42Do all the pads dissolve when used?
    • Yes, the cover completely dissolves in the washing machine.

  • 43 Why is the descaler in a cover?
    • The cover prevents direct skin contact with the descaler when using the calcbusters.

  • 44What are the advantages of calcbusters over other descalers?
    • The inorganic acid makes the calcbusters up to 6x stronger and up to 10x more effective in terms of decalcification time than other decalcifiers. The cellulose cover prevents the descaler from coming into contact with the skin.

  • 45How does limescale form, and why does the washing machine need to be descaled?
    • Water contains calcium and magnesium ions, as well as various minerals, which can lead to limescale deposits when the water is heated. The harder the water, the higher the concentration of dissolved minerals like calcium and magnesium ions. In hard water, the potential for limescale buildup is correspondingly higher. Since water is heated in every washing machine, regular descaling is necessary! The dosage of laundry detergent also plays a role: If the detergent is overdosed or underdosed, it can promote the formation of limescale deposits. The bluu laundry sheets are optimally formulated and pre-dosed, helping to minimize limescale buildup in the washing machine. For thorough cleaning and descaling of your washing machine, we recommend using bluu calcbusters every 1-3 months: once a month for hard water and every 2-3 months for soft water. The calcbusters reliably remove limescale deposits, ensuring an efficient and hygienic washing machine. This ensures that you continue to achieve the desired washing results and extend the lifespan of your washing machine.

  • 46What is amidosulfonic acid in the calcbusters?
    • Amidosulfonic acid is an inorganic acid that, in contrast to citric acid, is about 10 times more effective in terms of descaling time and up to 6 times stronger than other descalers.

  • 47What distinguishes the calcbusters from descaling tablets?
    • Descaling tablets do not remove limescale; they primarily target unpleasant odors. The tablets contain bleach, which is intended to combat bacteria. However, since the bacteria reside within the limescale deposits, they can only be effectively eliminated if the limescale is also removed. Additionally, competing descaling tablets often need to be handled without protection. Our calcbusters eliminate limescale deposits, thereby also combating bacteria and unpleasant odors.

  • 48Sind die calcbusters biologisch abbaubar?
    • Whether the calcbusters are biodegradable depends significantly on the descaling process. Depending on the amount of limescale in the washing machine, the acid may or may not be neutralized. If there is not enough limescale in the machine, the acid cannot be properly neutralized and thus may not be effectively biodegradable

  • 49Does the silvertrooper really work?
    • Yes, it really works! Silver ions are released in the water have the ability to kill bacteria, which are often responsible for unpleasant odors. By eliminating these bacteria, the silvertrooper also reduces the breakdown products that cause sweat odor. The result is that unpleasant smells are avoided because there are no bacteria present to produce the odor. The strong antibacterial effect of the product on laundry has also been confirmed by a recognized Institute.

  • 50 Does the silvertrooper replace a 90° / 60° wash?
    • The silvertrooper allows you to lower the washing temperature by 20°C. This means that a 90°C wash can be replaced by a 70°C wash, and a 60°C wash can be replaced by a 40°C wash.
