Hand washing in 6 steps

Washing clothes by hand is not complicated and is very simple. To make sure nothing goes wrong, we have put together a simple guide for you.

Step 1: Find the right container

Find two suitable containers for your laundry. Depending on the amount of clothing, a bowl or bucket will suffice. If you need to wash several or larger items, a bathtub is a good choice.

You will need the second container for AFTER the wash to rinse the clothes.

Step 2: Choose the right detergent

The bluu washing strips work wonderfully for hand washing. They are also super space-saving and can be stowed away in your luggage. Depending on the amount of laundry and the degree of soiling, just one corner of the washing strip is enough. The more laundry or the dirtier it is, the more you tear off the washing strip.

Are you traveling and only have cold water available? No problem! Our bluu washing strips are not only gentle on textiles, they are also particularly suitable for lower temperatures.

Step 3: Let the water in

Pour warm water into your first clean container. A temperature of around 30 degrees is ideal. You need enough water so that the clothes are completely 'submerged' but cannot spill over the edge.

You can now use the bluu washing strips and dissolve them by stirring.

Pour clear water into the second container for later.

Step 4: Wash the laundry

Now place the item of clothing to be washed in the water and move it back and forth with circular movements - either until the dirt has dissolved or for a maximum of five minutes for a maximum of five minutes. You can also knead the soiled areas very gently or rub them together. Please be particularly careful with delicate fabrics!

Step 5: Rinse the laundry

Now take the clothes out of the first container and place them in the second with the clear water. Again, a gentle back and forth motion is sufficient. Repeat this until the water remains clear.

Step 6: Dry the clothes

You can gently squeeze the clothes to get rid of the excess water. Please never wring them out (this will damage the fibers and deform the clothes)! Then hang them up or place them on a clothes horse to dry.
