The bottle is made of borosilicate glass 3.3, a special glass that is particularly resistant to chemicals such as alkalis and acids and does not contain any harmful substances (such as BPA). Its smooth, non-porous surface prevents the adhesion of germs, remains odorless and absolutely tasteless even after repeated use. It is not for nothing that this glass is used primarily in laboratories and the food industry and is considered the most suitable material for storing food.

The easiest way to clean is with our drinking bottle cleaner cleanions:

Application: Pour 8-10 cleanions into the bottle. Add a little warm water (fill to a maximum of 1 cm). Close the bottle tightly and shake it vigorously for at least 40 seconds. Caution: A slight pressure may build up in the bottle. Open the bottle carefully and then rinse it out thoroughly - done!

Glass:
The bottle is made of borosilicate glass 3.3, which was later patented under the brand name DURAN® and has since been used as the standard material for the manufacture of laboratory glassware. The glass has a very high resistance to heat and thermal shock as well as very high mechanical strength.

Wire handle:
The wire handle is made of stainless steel and is therefore corrosion-resistant, temperature-resistant, durable and hygienic.

Lid:
The lid is made of plastic (food quality standard FDA, EU food conformity, phthalate-free). The plastic lid weighs around a third of a ceramic lid and is also much more compact.

Seal:
The sealing ring is made of food-grade silicone (FDA standard, EU compliant, phthalate-free). Silicone is a synthetic material made from silicon and oxygen. Silicon is abundant on earth and is therefore a sustainable resource. The material is particularly resistant to heat and cold, making it ideal for use as a sealing ring.

The bottle is and remains a glass bottle. Although borosilicate glass is more robust than normal glass, it is not completely break-proof. The bottle can therefore shatter if it falls from a great height or onto a hard surface, especially when it is full. In contrast to normal glass, which shatters into large, sharp pieces, borosilicate glass shatters into many smaller, blunt and less sharp-edged fragments, a property that helps to prevent cuts as the small fragments have no sharp edges.

All components of the bottle are produced and processed in Germany.

Yes, thanks to the heat-resistant borosilicate glass, you can also fill the bottle with boiling water without any problems. Watch out for hot stuff!

Taste: In contrast to plastic, aluminum and chrome steel bottles, glass is tasteless and therefore offers the best drinking pleasure.

Hygiene: Due to the natural structure of the material, plastic, aluminum and chrome steel bottles will develop deposits over time. Not so with non-porous borosilicate glass. With the right care using our cleanions, the glass bottle looks the same as it did on the first day, even after years of use.

Screw cap: The corners and edges on the thread of screw caps make it particularly easy for fungi and germs to grow. These closures are therefore often colored black so that the black dots of fungi and germs are not visible. Our swing top has a food-safe silicone seal that can be replaced. In addition, the swing top is firmly attached to the bottle, forming a single unit. Twist-off closures are usually loose and can therefore easily be lost.

Production: Virtually all chrome steel bottles are produced in the Far East. In the case of our bottle, all materials come from Germany and the packaging is produced in Switzerland.

The bottle is suitable for carbonated drinks and is normally leak-proof even with these.

Yes, the bottle (including the swing top) can be cleaned in the dishwasher without any problems. However, the dishwasher only cleans superficially and often does not reliably reach hard-to-reach areas such as narrow necks, mouthpieces or seals. We therefore recommend additional mechanical cleaning with our drinking bottle cleaner cleanions.
